After days of following Israel's relentless and brutal assault on Gaza;
witnessing our so-called leaders ignore the genocide despite
cries of outrage from around the world, issuing 'statements' urging restraint
while allowing Israel's death machine to grind
scores of defenseless Palestinians unopposed, I can come to only one conclusion
- we're next.
The message is unmistakable. If they use these lame excuses to justify
killing innocent Palestinians, they will some day use these same excuses to
justify killing us.
Slowly but surely, those who wield war machines are telling us that they don't
care how many of us they kill nor how many of us complain. Our cries of horror
fall on deaf ears and dead souls, reverberating only in the cold steel barrels
of their guns and missile launchers.
We're being conditioned not to resist - to renounce our humanity and accept
the new reality
they impose on us.
“Anybody
who calls this operation disproportionate has no clue about the facts
on the ground. We have been attacked and bombarded for months and weeks,”
Cabinet minister Yitzhak Herzog said Sunday. “With all due respect to
all those who criticize us, if anything of this nature would have happened
in their homeland, they would have acted much worse.”
They are only protecting themselves. WE are hypocrites for
criticizing their ruthless barbarism. NEVERMIND that saying
so repeatedly does NOT make it TRUE.
“We
are prepared to continue the operation a month, two months and, if need
be, even more,” he told Channel 2 TV late Saturday. “The
Palestinians will do their reckoning. They will count hundreds of dead terrorists,
they will count the damaged infrastructure, the destroyed offices, the damaged
factories.”
NEVERMIND that no one believes that their victims
are 'terrorists' or that destroying infrastructure, offices,
and factories is meant to 'stop
the terror'.
“The goal of the operation is simply to stop the terrorism.”
Our job is to hear and obey.
“We do not hold negotiations with 'terrorists'.”
And if we don't like it - we're
next.
