San Salvador, May 31 (Prensa Latina) Social organizations in El Salvador have denounced that hundreds of Salvadorans are recruited by security agencies to work as mercenaries in Iraq under the veil of private security forces.

The enlisting operations are new ways of slavery because recruiters choose the needed and unemployed to accomplish the high risk missions in Iraqi territory, Human Rights Ombudswoman Beatrice de Carrillo warned.

The human rights office made public the files of Salvadoran citizens who has been misled by recruiters offering them -and Hondurans too- salaries between $2,000 and $4,000 for their service.

Humanitarian organizations have denounced the support given by security agents to the United States occupation forces in Iraq. The Farabundo-Marti National Liberation Front has demanded the Salvadoran government to ban recruiting of Salvadoran young men to work in Iraq as mercenaries.
